Cosmic conscience; the light of thought
Uriel is described as gazing down upon the human being from the summer heights, reading in the play of light the difference between what the soul intends and what it has become. In this register midsummer is not idle warmth but a mirror: the outstreaming light invites the I to measure its own truthfulness against the clarity of the cosmos.
At the height of summer the earth breathes fully out; its soul-forces stream into cosmic space and the human being can most easily lose himself in the wide light of the world.
The summer register can be read as a call to honesty of thought; to notice, in the season of greatest outward light, where inner light has dimmed. It names a field of conscience, not a verdict.
