GA 132 · Doctrine
Spiritual-scientific research (GA 132) narrates the earliest conditions of evolution from within — as the inner experience of the beings who lived them. Read microcosmically, those accounts are the case histories of the four entities you are made of. What follows is their history; the chart shows how they are configured in you.
The cosmic conditions named here — Old Saturn, Old Sun, Old Moon — are evolutionary embodiments of the Earth, never the Saturn, Sun, or Moon spheres of your chart. Where a chart sphere is named, it is a window and an echo, never an identity.
The renunciation of the sacrifice; the rejected substance seized by the beings who remained behind; longing born of the withheld will.
Water is the maya of renunciation: wherever fluidity appears, the research reads behind it divine resignation — the rejected sacrifice flowing back.
On Old Sun, one host of Cherubim renounced the sacrifice the Thrones offered them. Through that renunciation they withdrew from time and won eternity — and the rejected sacrificial substance did not vanish. Other beings seized it and became independent: “they who remained behind.” The Luciferic beings could not have remained behind had the sacrifice been accepted. The research states the consequence without flinching: the gods themselves called their opponents into being, because without opposition there could be no free beings.
“If the gods had not renounced the sacrifice, beings would not have been able to oppose them.”
Human freedom hangs on this: the Luciferic beings entered the astral body during Earth evolution because they remained behind on Old Moon, and without their forces there — the possibility of erring from the good — there would be no free will and no human dignity. The possibility of evil is necessary to freedom as three angles are necessary to a triangle; and the powers that renounced retained, through renunciation, the strength to lead evil back to good.
“man would never have attained his freedom … had not the Lucifer beings remained behind on the Moon.”
The other side of the same event: the beings whose sacrifice was rejected had to retain their will within themselves. The withheld will became longing — an unattainable desire of the will — and in being driven back into themselves, egoity first flashed up. The Spirits of Movement appeared as the redress: change, ever-new relations, and the arising of picture-consciousness, flowing dream-like pictures poured as balm into the longing. Old Moon is named the Planet of Longing; Earth, the Planet of Redemption — because an endless flow of pictures can only be replaced by realities.
“What we described as longing is an unattainable desire of the will.”
Read microcosmically, this is the biography of your astral body — the entity that owns two of the five chapters, because its history is the hinge of the whole story. It carries, structurally and from origin, an open door: the admission of the adversarial powers was not an accident that befell it but the price and enablement of your freedom. And it carries longing as inheritance — the withheld will of beings whose offering was refused. Where the lecture describes beings tormented by unstillable longing and soothed by ever-new pictures, the entity register says: a part of you still lives so — the part that reaches for the next image, the next change, the next desire.
The turbulent member: desire, feeling, passion, attraction and aversion. Its oscillation — inflation toward the Luciferic pull, hardening toward the Ahrimanic — is not malfunction but the unfinished chapter of an entity whose very history required leaving a door open. The storms are the history, still being written.
How this entity can be read in your chart — windows and echoes, offered contemplatively. This mapping is a reading of ours, not a statement of the source.
Attraction and self-assertion — the two poles of desire. These spheres can be read as windows onto how the astral entity’s turbulence is configured in this one person.
The natal Moon sphere can be read as the mirror in which the astral entity’s Old-Moon history resonates. Window and echo only — the sphere in the chart is never the ancient condition itself.
Set up your natal chart to see your own configuration here.
The storms in me are not malfunction — they are the unfinished chapter of an entity whose history required leaving a door open. Which door, in my case?
Practice
The chronicle tells you what the lectures state. The instrument panel shows where each entity has a window in your chart. This exercise joins the two: it is a way of reading your own chart so that the concepts of the lectures stop being information and become something you can observe in yourself. Work one step at a time, ideally over four sittings rather than one.
Open your chart and find the windows listed for the physical entity. Do not interpret them yet. Instead, notice only where in your body you can feel warmth right now — hands, chest, face. Hold that sensation, then look back at the window placements and let them stay unread for a moment.
Why this step: The lectures state that warmth is the perceptible residue of a sacrificial deed. The exercise puts the sensation first so the concept is met as experience rather than as a label attached to a degree.
What in me was given before I had any part in it, and simply arrived as a body?
Take the etheric windows and pick one only. Follow that sphere around your chart: which sign it stands in, which other spheres it meets by aspect. Say aloud what it touches. Then set the chart down and recall one habit of yours that has repeated for years without your deciding it.
Why this step: The etheric is read as what streams and repeats. Following a single line, rather than reading every placement, is what makes the difference between an inventory and a living movement.
Where does life stream in me freely, and where has the giving been dammed?
Find the astral windows. Choose the one whose placement you like least, or understand least. Resist explaining it. Write down, in one sentence, what you want it to mean, and beside it, one sentence describing what it actually is: a body at a degree, at a moment.
Why this step: The lectures narrate longing and renunciation as formative. Sitting with an unresolved placement is the nearest a chart reading comes to that motion, and it is deliberately not resolved for you.
What do I keep reaching for, and what would it cost me to stop reaching?
Look at the whole chart once more, all four sets of windows together. Then name one thing you intend to do this week that no placement in it accounts for. That act, not the chart, is the fourth entity speaking.
Why this step: Earth is the condition in which the I appears. The exercise closes by making the chart insufficient on purpose, so that agency is located where the doctrine locates it.
Which chapter of my own biography is being written right now, and am I holding the pen?
Nothing here diagnoses or predicts. A chart window is a place to look, not a cause and not a fate. The three older entities condition; they never determine. Whatever you find, the I is the one doing the finding, and it remains free.
