The Geometric Origin of Aspects

An aspect is usually introduced as an angle: two planetary spheres 60, 90 or 120 degrees apart. In this reading the angles have an origin. They are the trace of movement: over months, years and decades the planetary spheres inscribe geometric figures in the zodiac (Venus her pentagram, Mercury a six-pointed star, Mars a figure of loops), and the aspect angles are the angles of those figures, movement crystallised into form. An aspect can then be heard as frozen music, a chord struck long ago by the planetary spheres’ own dance and still sounding in the chart. Read this way, an aspect between two placements is a question the soul may take up rather than a verdict: how are these two capacities geometrically related, and what movement lies held in their angle?

The Circle Divided

Beneath the movement-figures lies a simpler and older geometry. The classical Ptolemaic aspects are exactly the regular divisions of the circle: the opposition halves it (180°), the trine divides it by the inscribed triangle (120°), the square by the inscribed square (90°), the sextile by the hexagon (60°), and the conjunction is the undivided circle itself (0°). This polygon-division reading is standard circle-division geometry and stands on its own; the astrosophical contribution is the further, contemplative step of asking which planetary movement inscribes each figure in the actual sky.

conjunction

the point, the undivided circle · two planetary spheres sharing one place in the zodiac

The conjunction is the zero-case of the geometry: the circle before any division, two planetary spheres standing at a single point of the zodiac. No polygon is inscribed because no interval has yet opened; the whole circle stands behind the one point. In the movement-picture this is the moment every planetary figure begins and ends, the meeting from which the pentagram, the six-star, and the loops are all drawn. Every inscribed figure is a history of conjunctions strung around the circle.

A conjunction can be contemplated as an origin-point: two capacities of the soul sounding as one note, before the music of their separation has begun.

opposition

the diameter, two-fold division · the axis across the whole heavens

The first possible division of the circle is by two: a single diameter, and with it the angle of 180°. Geometrically the opposition is the simplest inscribed figure, the line that holds the circle’s two halves against one another. In the movement-picture it is the axis every outer planet draws through the Earth at each of its oppositions to the Sun, the recurring moment when Earth stands exactly between. The two-fold division is the archetype of polarity from which all further divisions descend.

An opposition invites the question of the middle: two capacities face each other across the full circle, and the I is asked to stand consciously between them.

trine

the triangle, three-fold division · the inscribed triangle of the elements

Divide the circle by three and the inscribed equilateral triangle appears, its vertices 120° apart: the trine. This is the same geometry that groups the twelve signs into four elemental triangles, each element a triangle turned within the zodiac. The three-fold division is the first figure with an interior, a surface held between its sides, and in the classical reading it carries the quality of completed, resting form. The trine angle is simply this triangle read between two of its vertices.

A trine can be read as a triangle already drawn: two capacities that share an element of form, whose accord asks only to be noticed and taken up freely.

square

the square, four-fold division (octagon for the eight-fold family) · Mars and the eight-fold figure of its loops

Divide the circle by four and the inscribed square gives the 90° aspect; halve that division again and the octagon gives the 45° semi-square, the eight-fold family. In the astrosophical picture this family is connected to Mars: the loops Mars draws in the zodiac around its oppositions, followed over successive cycles, are read as inscribing an eight-fold, octagon-related figure in the heavens. From that eight-fold figure the square and semi-square derive as its characteristic angles, the geometry of will meeting resistance, cut at right angles.

A square can be contemplated as a crossing the soul may work at rather than suffer: two capacities set at right angles, each offering the other the resistance in which effort becomes form.

sextile

the hexagon, six-fold division · Mercury’s six-pointed star

Divide the circle by six and the inscribed hexagon gives the 60° aspect. In the astrosophical picture this six-fold figure is Mercury’s: followed through its synodic rhythm with the Sun, Mercury’s successive meetings and movements are read as inscribing a six-pointed star, a hexagonal figure, in the zodiac over time. The sextile then becomes an angle Mercury actually draws, more than an abstract sixth of the circle: the mobile, mediating planetary sphere leaves behind the geometry of the open door.

A sextile can be read as one ray of Mercury’s star: an opening between two capacities that becomes real only through a free deed.

quintile

the pentagon and pentagram, five-fold division · Venus’s pentagram of inferior conjunctions

Divide the circle by five and the pentagon gives 72°, the quintile; join every second vertex and the pentagram appears. This is the figure Venus actually draws: her inferior conjunctions with the Sun fall five times in almost exactly eight years, each about 144° ahead of the last, so that joining them in sequence inscribes the famous five-pointed star in the zodiac. In the astrosophical reading the quintile family (72° and 144°) derives from this five-fold Venus figure, the geometry of living form and proportion, drawn by the planetary sphere of harmony herself.

A quintile can be contemplated as a fragment of Venus’s star: an invitation to shape something formed and beautiful out of the relation between two capacities.

Michael is presented as the countenance of cosmic intelligence made free, the being who would have human thought carried by moral will rather than by nature. Michaelmas is offered as a festival still to be created: a turning inward, at the year's fading, toward inner strength and clear, courageous thinking.

As autumn draws the earth-soul inward, meteoric iron falls through the atmosphere; anthroposophy reads this as the cosmic iron that steels human courage against fear, the "festival of strong, active will".

The autumn register names a field of practice; gathering the will to think and act freely as the outer world withdraws. One possible reading is the meeting of fear with quiet courage.

The Etheric Body

The Body of Formative Forces

A subtler body interpenetrating the physical one, of approximately the same size and form. Steiner likens its ground-colour, found in none of the rainbow's seven colours, to young peach-blossom. Anthroposophy describes it as the field of life-currents that maintain growth, renewal, and rhythm; present in everything that lives, including the human being and beyond. Esoteric literature speaks of it developing three centers of activity through inner schooling: one near the head, one near the larynx, and one in the region of the heart, through which its currents are said to become more consciously ordered over a lifetime of inner work.

The Sixteen-Petalled Lotus

Region of the larynx · 16 petals

Form; the shape and gesture of thoughts and natural law, seen as living, mobile figures.

The sixteen-petalled lotus at the larynx, as pictured in anthroposophical literature, represents the soul's capacity to perceive thought-forms as living, gestural presences, the subtle shapes and movements through which ideas and natural laws reveal themselves. Instead of grasping concepts as static definitions, this organ is said to behold them as dynamic, breathing figures that express universal principles through their very form and motion. Steiner's own examples: a revengeful thought takes an arrow-like, pronged form, while a kindly thought is often formed like an opening flower. The description offers an image of thinking itself transformed into direct perception, where the boundary between observer and observed dissolves into a single act of contemplation.

GA 10

The four entities and their histories

Spiritual-scientific research (GA 132) narrates the earliest conditions of evolution from within, as the inner experience of the beings who lived them. Read microcosmically, those accounts are the case histories of the four entities you are made of. What follows is their history; the chart shows how they are configured in you.

The cosmic conditions named here, Old Saturn, Old Sun, Old Moon, are evolutionary embodiments of the Earth, never the Saturn, Sun, or Moon planetary spheres of your chart. Where a chart planetary sphere is named, it is a window and an echo, never an identity.

Water / fluidityOld Moon (the third embodiment of the Earth, a condition, not the Moon of the sky)

The renunciation of the sacrifice, the rejected substance seized by the beings who remained behind, and the longing born of the withheld will.

Water is the maya of renunciation: wherever fluidity appears, the research reads behind it divine resignation, the rejected sacrifice flowing back.

The Chronicle

On Old Sun, one host of Cherubim renounced the sacrifice the Thrones offered them. Through that renunciation they withdrew from time and won eternity, and the rejected sacrificial substance did not vanish. Other beings seized it and became independent: “they who remained behind.” The Luciferic beings could not have remained behind had the sacrifice been accepted. The research states the consequence without flinching: the gods themselves called their opponents into being, because without opposition there could be no free beings.

Human freedom hangs on this: the Luciferic beings entered the astral body during Earth evolution because they remained behind on Old Moon, and without their forces there, the possibility of erring from the good, there would be no free will and no human dignity. The possibility of evil is necessary to freedom as three angles are necessary to a triangle; and the powers that renounced retained, through renunciation, the strength to lead evil back to good.

The other side of the same event: the beings whose sacrifice was rejected had to retain their will within themselves. The withheld will became longing, an unattainable desire of the will, and in being driven back into themselves, egoity first flashed up. The Spirits of Movement appeared as the redress: change, ever-new relations, and the arising of picture-consciousness, flowing dream-like pictures poured as balm into the longing. Old Moon is named the Planet of Longing, and Earth the Planet of Redemption, because an endless flow of pictures can only be replaced by realities.

The Entity, read in yourself

Read microcosmically, this is the biography of your astral body, the entity that owns two of the five chapters, because its history is the hinge of the whole story. From its origin it carries an open door: the admission of the adversarial powers was the price and the enabling condition of your freedom, not an accident that befell it. It also inherits longing, the withheld will of beings whose offering was refused. Where the lecture describes beings tormented by unstillable longing and soothed by ever-new pictures, the entity register says: a part of you still lives so, the part that reaches for the next image, the next change, the next desire.

The turbulent member: desire, feeling, passion, attraction and aversion. It swings between inflation towards the Luciferic pull and hardening towards the Ahrimanic. That swing is the unfinished chapter of an entity whose history required leaving a door open, not a malfunction. The storms are the history, still being written.

GA 13 · Cosmology

The Seven Cosmic Ages

Before the human being could stand on the Earth as an “I”, the whole cosmos passed through a sequence of great embodiments, each preparing one member of the human constitution. The four entities above lived through the first three; Earth is the present stage.

These are not the seven planetary spheres of your chart. “Old Saturn” here is the first great embodiment of the whole solar system, a wholly different thing from the planet Saturn read in a natal chart.

1Old Saturn

The first great planetary condition, a cosmos of pure warmth. The Thrones poured out their own substance to lay down the first germ of the physical body, the seed of the human head-organisation.

2Old Sun

Warmth condensed to air and light; the etheric body was added, and with it the beginnings of life. The forces of this stage are metamorphosed today into the cosmic, spherical quality of the head.

3Old Moon

The watery cosmos in which the astral body was received. The old Moon heritage crystallises, on the descent toward birth, into the peripheral, cosmically-formed head.

4Earth

The present condition, where the I was implanted by the Spirits of Form. The rhythmic trunk-man mediates perpetually between the cosmic head-pole and the earthly limb-pole, the real human being of the present.

5Future Jupiter

The next planetary condition, prepared by what the limb-system takes up now from the earthly, telluric forces. The astral body will be transformed into Spirit-Self.

6Future Venus

Future· Limbs· Ancient Strength· toward Intuition

A yet later condition in which the etheric body is transformed into Life-Spirit. The forces streaming along the radius of the limb-man are its starting point.

7Future Vulcan

The final planetary condition of this evolutionary cycle, in which the physical body is transformed into Spirit-Man, the far goal toward which the whole arc of the limbs is directed.

The Human Being

Astral aura: Astral aura and astral body share a word and not always a function. The aura belongs to the lecture nest around a physical core. The astral body is a member of the app’s fourfold, with the etheric body inside it. Hover text names which picture is open.
Astral Body: The natal chart is the symbolic sky-image of the astral body. It stops in time: the sky-pattern of the incarnation moment remains fixed at the beginning of earthly life, the same configuration at birth, at twenty, at sixty, while the biography unfolds around it. Sensation, feeling, and desire belong to this member, and our feelings and responses continue to develop through life. The bearer of sensation, desire, passion, and consciousness of an inner life, shared with the animal kingdom. It is the body in which sympathy and antipathy, pleasure and pain arise, and in which the "lotus flowers", the organs of supersensible perception, awaken through inner schooling.
Aura: Aura is not one diagram. Body aura, soul aura, and spirit aura are three qualities of one teaching: opaque, luminous, and raying. Astral aura, mental aura, and causal aura belong to a lecture picture that has no etheric sheath. Neither set is the four members renamed.
Biography: Biography is the ordered account of what a person experienced, chose, attempted, changed, and brought into relationship with others. In Self, events are reconstructed before symbolic interpretation. The chart offers another perspective on a life; it does not replace the life or decide its meaning.
Body aura: The body aura makes supersensible space relatively opaque. Its shades are misty rather than luminous, and they are associated with desire, indifference, overreach, conceit, natural selfless impulse and fear. The field grows quieter as those impulses fall away. It is neither the physical body nor the corporeal pole called body.
Body, soul, and spirit: Body is the corporeal pole: more than the physical body alone, and not the head. Soul is inner life, wider than the astral body alone. Spirit is selfhood, and it is not simply another name for the causal aura. This picture is not drawn on the anatomy figure as head, trunk and limbs.
Causal aura: The causal aura is described as enduring light that rays when it is developed. The I is not another name for it; it is only the nearest correspondence across the two pictures. The lecture’s picture has no etheric sheath.
Chyle: Fat-rich lymph from intestinal absorption, linked with Venus beings and nourishment: the most elementary of the three fluids, chyle, lymph and blood. It is not a general nutritive juice; chyme, the partly digested food, is distinct from chyle.
Consciousness Soul: The highest of the three soul-members: the soul-life in which the human being comes to clear, waking self-awareness and the capacity for free spiritual insight. It is the soul-region especially cultivated in the present cultural age.
Etheric Body: The etheric body is the living, formative member that sustains growth, renewal, and continuity. It connects the beginning of earthly life with the age we have reached, holding origin and present together across the years. This is the image of living time: biography as an unfolding continuity of rhythms, habits, development, and memory. The body of formative life-forces, shared with the plant kingdom. It holds the physical body back from the dissolution the mineral world would otherwise impose, governing growth, nourishment, reproduction, and the rhythms of life. It carries habit and temperament, and is the seat of the currents and centres worked upon in inner development.
Fine breathing: This fine breathing process consists of an extraordinarily fine reception of warmth from the macrocosm. Cosmic warmth enters the human organism, and this warmth carries with it light, macrocosmic chemical, and macrocosmic life or vitality. Light ether, chemical ether, and life ether from the macrocosm are carried by this fine inhalation of warmth into the human organism.
Fourfold and the lecture auras: Keep the pictures apart. The fourfold is physical body, etheric body, astral body, and the I. The lecture’s outer picture is a physical core, then astral, mental, and causal auras, with no etheric sheath. The I corresponds most nearly to the causal aura. Body, soul, and spirit are a third teaching.
Fourfold Human Being: The basic anthroposophical picture of the human being as four members: physical body (mineral), etheric body (plant/life), astral body (animal/soul), and the I (spirit). Each corresponds to a kingdom of nature the human being has grown beyond and now contains.
Imagination: Imagination names a disciplined formative picturing in the cognition ladder. Astrosophy places it beside Inspiration and Intuition as study language for how the soul meets the world; it does not grant supersensible sight by using the app.
Inspiration: Inspiration follows Imagination in the cognition ladder as a quieter hearing of meaning. It is studied as an orientation in human development, not as a button that delivers messages from beyond.
Intuition: Intuition crowns the Imagination–Inspiration–Intuition ladder as direct beholding in willing. Astrosophy keeps it distinct from impulse or preference; the I remains free in how any insight is taken up.
Lotus Flowers: The organs of spiritual perception that develop in the astral body through inner schooling, pictured as lotus flowers with differing numbers of petals, near the larynx (16), the heart (12), the pit of the stomach (10), the body-centre (6), the lower abdomen (4), and between the eyes (2). This is not a simple six-chakra system: it includes relations between organs, inward and outward activity, and the development of the etheric organization. This app names and situates them as a map of the subtle body; it does not reproduce training exercises.
Lymph: Lymph returns tissue fluid, takes part in immune surveillance, and carries fats. It is linked with Moon and Mars beings and affects soul life and temperament: the intermediate level of the three fluids. Lymph is blood without red corpuscles. Blood is lymph with red corpuscles. We see in lymph everything that has not yet become blood; we see in it also the living-weaving of developing karma. In the lymph vessels and process new karma is forming, the beginning of the paths of future karma.
Mental aura: In the lecture picture the mental aura stands outside the astral aura and inside the causal aura. That picture has no etheric sheath. Do not call this a mental body in the app, and do not place it between the physical and etheric members.
Metabolic-limb system: Metabolic-limb life grounds deed and digestion. Willing is studied beside it as soul activity, not identical with the I.
Nerve-sense system: One of the three bodily systems: nerve-sense life gathers toward the head pole and pairs with thinking as a correspondence for study.
Physical Body: The physical body is the bodily form through which we enter earthly life. It grows, changes, and ages, the member that brings action and experience into concrete, dated expression. In the temporal picture it stands at the present moment: the body that has travelled from birth to now, and through whose organization our inward life becomes the changing everyday experience of a self. The outermost, sense-perceptible body: the part of the human being built of the same substances as the mineral world. In anthroposophy it is the most ancient member, first laid down in the earliest cosmic epoch, and the ground on which the higher members work.
Pre-earthly: Pre-earthly names the approach toward birth through the spheres as spiritual-scientific study language. Astrosophy does not turn a natal chart into a transcript of previous incarnations.
Rhythmic system: The rhythmic middle mediates between nerve-sense and metabolic-limb life. Feeling is studied here as correspondence.
Sentient Soul: The first of the three soul-members, working most closely with the astral body: the soul-life of immediate sensation, instinct, and desire. Above it stand the intellectual (or mind) soul and the consciousness soul.
Seven life processes: Breathing (lungs); warming (metabolism and circulation); nourishing (digestive canal); secreting (glands, kidneys, digestive organs); maintaining (organism-wide, compare modern homeostasis); growing (etheric organization); reproducing (reproductive system). The terms are not identical to modern physiology, and the pairing of each process with a planet is a traditional frame.
Seven-Year Rhythm: Anthroposophy reads the human biography in approximately seven-year periods, each with its own task: the building of the physical body in the first seven years, the unfolding of the life-forces, then the awakening of the soul and the gradual coming-to-oneself of the I. Astrosophy places these phases beside the chart as one more perspective on a life; the rhythm names a field of attention, never a schedule that decides what a person must become.
Sheath: Sheath is used when the four members are shown wrapped around the figure: physical, etheric, astral, and the I, outer to inner. It is not a separate body. The lecture picture of astral, mental, and causal auras is a different nest, and that picture has no etheric sheath.
Soul aura: The soul aura is light rather than mist, quieter than the spirit aura. It is associated with pride, clear thinking, understanding, memory, affection, piety and idealism. It is scant while life stays in impulse, and it fills as that life recedes. It is wider than the astral body alone.
Spirit aura: The spirit aura is active light: yellow, green, and blue as thinking that can hold a whole, love toward beings, and selfless work. It is barely present while the soul is bound to impulse. It is not the I renamed, and it is not the causal aura without that correspondence being said.
The I (Ego): The I is the spiritual individuality that works through the physical, etheric, and astral members. It is the agent of meaning, choice, and transformation. The real I remains rooted at the beginning of earthly life; what changes is the everyday reflected sense of who I am, carried through bodily development and etheric mediation. The chart supplies a field for reflection; the I brings the response. The spiritual individuality: the self-conscious spirit that says "I" to itself, unique to the human being among earthly creatures. It is the free agent, never determined by the stars or the bodies, that works upon the other members, transforming them over the course of biography and across lives. In this app the I is always the one who reads, never the one who is read. Three kinds of I are related but not identical: the spiritual I, the enduring individuality in anthroposophical spiritual science; the I-organization, the I’s activity within the embodied organism (anthroposophical medicine); and the everyday self, the changing experience of identity, memory, habit, biography.
Thinking, Feeling, and Willing: Thinking gives form and relation to experience, feeling meets its value and proportion, and willing carries a response into time and deed. The I can observe, educate, and bring them into freer relationship through biography.
Twelve senses: Lower, bodily senses: touch, life, self-movement, balance. Middle senses: smell, taste, sight, warmth. Upper, cognitive and social senses: hearing, word or speech, thought, and the I-sense. The three-group layout is a later interpretive organization, not an extra physiological discovery. The I-sense is not one’s own self-consciousness; it perceives the I of another person.
Waking and sleeping: Waking and sleeping describe how the human members relate across day and night. The figure and biography study may reference this rhythm; it is not a schedule that decides what someone must become.

The Hierarchies

Angeloi (Angels): The ninth and closest choir, guardian beings who accompany the individual human being. In this app Angels dwell on Earth. They are absent on the Moon. A human being meets them here, and Archangels are received through them. The natal seat that pairs Angels with the Moon stays in the hierarchy canon and is not the Moon’s host.
Archangeloi (Archangels): The eighth choir, beings who guide whole peoples and preside over the rhythms of the seasons and epochs. Archangels are primary on the Moon sphere and also on Earth as folk-souls. They are received through Angels.
Cherubim: The second choir, beings of overflowing wisdom who stand above the planetary system entirely: they are the zodiac-bearing beings, not planetary sphere-bearing. For this reason the app never links them to a single planetary sphere.
Dynameis: The fifth choir, the Spirits of Movement, who carry the forces of change and momentum through the cosmos.
Exusiai: The sixth choir, the Spirits of Form, who give the world its finished forms and boundaries. Solar spirits and present Sun beings keep that sphere. The natal seat that pairs Exusiai with the Sun stays in the hierarchy canon.
Kyriotetes: The fourth choir, the Spirits of Wisdom, who endowed the cosmos with life and wise order.
Seraphim: The first and highest choir, beings of cosmic warmth who stand nearest the divine. Like the Cherubim they are above the planetary spheres, and so are never linked to a single planetary sphere in this app.
The Hierarchies: The nine choirs of spiritual beings standing above humanity, in three triads. From highest to closest: Seraphim, Cherubim, Thrones (first triad); Kyriotetes, Dynameis, Exusiai (second); Archai, Archangeloi, Angeloi (third). The human being is sometimes called the tenth hierarchy, still in becoming. A planetary sphere is a host of its own beings. Natal choir seats are a separate register.
Thrones: The third choir, the Spirits of Will, who offered up their own substance to give the cosmos its first foundation. Saturn beings and Old Saturn beings keep that sphere. The natal seat that pairs Thrones with Saturn stays in the hierarchy canon.

The Zodiac & Planetary spheres

Four Zodiac Frames: A four-fold vocabulary (from "Speaking to the Stars", citing GA 137) distinguishing the senses of "zodiac": the tropical zodiac of living formative forces, the equal-division stellar reference frame, the actual unequal constellations of fixed stars, and behind all three the zodiac as the dwelling of spiritual beings, the "heavenly script". It refines, without replacing, the app's two-layer doctrine: the tropical seasonal cycle, the stellar fixed-star backdrop, the real sky shown but not computed, and the ground of them all.
Meeting (Aspect): When two planetary spheres form an aspect (conjunction, sextile, square, trine, opposition), it is read here as two whole hosts of beings meeting behind the zodiac rather than two points. Each sphere is a multitude, already woven into the beings of the others. The angle names the quality of the meeting; it is an image to contemplate, never a prediction.
Planetary Sphere: In this app, “planetary sphere” names the visible moving body together with the wider field of relation and spiritual activity approached through it. The seven classical planetary spheres are hosted by their own beings: Lunar, Mercury, Venus, Solar, Mars, Jupiter, and Saturn beings. A transit is a meeting. Answering is rulership.
Royal Stars: Four brilliant fixed stars anciently honoured as the Watchers of the sky, each near one of the four "gates" of the zodiac circle and each linked to a fixed sign and to one of the four living creatures: Aldebaran (East, the Bull), Regulus (North, the Lion), Antares (West, the Eagle-Scorpion), Fomalhaut (South, the Man). They offer four points of contemplation on the real star-sky; Astrosophy brings the ancient tradition into relationship with the anthroposophical picture.
Stellar: Where a body stands against the actual fixed-star constellations, The Ram, The Lion, The Fishes, named as the ancients saw them. These regions are unequal in size and drift against the tropical signs by about one degree every 72 years (precession). This is the ground of the Great Ages and the visible sky; it must never be collapsed with the tropical sign alone.
Tropical: The zodiac measured from the vernal equinox (0° Aries = the spring crossing). It names fields of cosmic forming-work and developmental quality, where a body stands in the Earth–Sun cycle, not fixed-star position. In this app the natal chart, sign readings, and the Cosmosophy elements are all computed tropically.
Zodiac: The circle of twelve, read in this app on two distinct relationships that must never be collapsed: tropical signs (the Earth–Sun seasonal cycle) and the stellar zodiac (the visible fixed-star constellations). See "Tropical" and "Stellar".

Cosmology

Ahrimanic: Ahrimanic one-sidedness hardens life into mechanism, calculation, and fixed determination. The term describes a tendency, not a label for a person. Its counterweight is living perception and the capacity of the I to use exact knowledge without surrendering freedom to a system. In the battle for the soul, sub-human Ahrimanic beings (earth and water) enter subconsciously and take hold of Man’s will, working through the etheric.
Ascending & Descending Members: A cosmological picture placing the members of the human being around the zodiac: from the lowest constellation the being rises through ascending members toward a balance-point, then the forces turn and descend. The point of balance is the place where the I first participates and can turn the scales.
Astral world: The astral world in the region tables is not the fourfold astral body. Its higher regions are associated with sympathy, the middle with pain, and the lower with egotism. An older name for that middle is Kamaloka.
Budhi plane: In the worlds-and-spheres ladder the Budhi plane stands above the higher spiritual world. Nearer the Earth come the planetary plane and then the elementary plane. No sphere on the figure is assigned to this plane until that mapping is given.
Clairvoyant Knowledge: Clairvoyant knowledge is approached as transformed cognition involving thinking, feeling, willing, moral life, and careful discrimination. Astrosophy offers structured study of a cosmology born from such research. It does not claim that using the app grants supersensible perception or replaces inner development.
Colonies of Spiritual Beings: The reading drawn from the Karmic Relationships lectures in which the stars and planetary spheres are not physical masses but the outer expression of colonies, hosts, of spiritual beings. It is the ground of the sidereal layer and of the "planetary sphere as host" picture.
Cosmic Epochs: The vast evolutionary stages through which the cosmos and the human being pass: Old Saturn, Old Sun, Old Moon, present Earth, and future stages. These are distinct from the seven classical planetary spheres and are never merged with them in this app.
Cosmic Memory: Cosmic memory names the spiritual-scientific picture that becoming is not exhausted by present sense appearance. Astrosophy studies it beside Moon, Saturn, incarnation, biography, and saved reflection. The app does not claim to read an Akashic record, recover a former identity, or turn a natal chart into a transcript of previous lives.
Elementary plane: The elementary plane is the near-Earth band of the worlds ladder, beside the lower soul world. It is not the physical body, and it is not the etheric body.
Incarnation: Incarnation brings heredity, bodily form, earthly conditions, memory, relationship, and a longer spiritual journey into one field of contemplation. Self can show these relationships without claiming recovered past-life facts. Biography reveals what the I makes from what has been received.
Kamaloka: Kamaloka names the middle of the astral-world column in the study tables, between a higher region of sympathy and a lower region of egotism. The app keeps the word as that region’s historical name. It is not a verdict on a life.
Lemniscate: The lemniscate is the figure-of-eight, one continuous curve that crosses itself at a middle point and loops through two opposite poles. In Astrosophy it is held as a picture of rhythm, an inbreath and outbreath, the turning of inner and outer into one another, and as the geometry of planetary movement, where sky-bodies inscribe loops that advance, rotate, incline, and cross. It is a way of picturing the system, offered for contemplation rather than as a mechanism that decides a life.
Line of apsides: Each year there is a point where the Sun and Earth are nearest to each other. This day is now one of the first days of January, and the point where the Sun stands then on the ecliptic and zodiac, lies in the constellation of Sagittarius. Almost six months later the reverse is true and Earth and Sun are as far as possible from each other, and this Sun’s point in the zodiac then lies in Gemini. The line of the apsides is the major axis of the ellipse on which the Earth revolves around the Sun, and within which the Sun is one of the two foci. The axes of this ellipse ‘rotate’ in space with respect to the zodiac in a period (according to observations) of approx. 110,000 years.
Luciferic: Luciferic one-sidedness lifts imagination away from embodiment, observation, and shared responsibility. The term describes a tendency, not a label for a person. Its counterweight is exact attention to earthly conditions and the work of the I in thinking, feeling, and willing. In the battle for the soul, Luciferic beings (air and warmth) live in Man’s head and thinking, working through the astral.
Planetary plane: The planetary plane is the band of the classical spheres from the Sun to the Moon in the worlds ladder. It is shown as one band, not as a separate picture for each sphere.
Soul world: The soul world is distinct from the physical world and from the spirit world. Study tables divide higher and lower regions. The astral body is the member placed with this world.
Spirit world: The spirit world is the uppermost column in the worlds tables: an unformed higher region, a middle record, and a formed lower region. Older literature calls parts of this devachan. The app’s term is spirit world. The I is not relocated there by the chart.
The four ethers: Three systems connect here but are not interchangeable: the astrological elements; Old Saturn, Sun, Moon and Earth; and the four ethers. In the living organism the I works in warmth with the warmth ether, the astral body in air with the light ether, the etheric body in water with the chemical ether, and the physical body in earth with the life ether. By evolutionary stage, the warmth ether belongs to Old Saturn, the light ether to Old Sun, the chemical or sound ether to Old Moon, and the life ether to Earth. The two pairings stand side by side.

The physical body tends toward the polyhedral, crystalline form and relates to the Moon; in the human being this is lifted out of direct bodily configuration and raised into conscious mathematical and geometrical picturing.

Etheric body

The etheric body tends towards the sphere, imitating the Earth itself as the plant world does; the human head partially realises this rounded, living form.

The astral body adds the "pocket" or sac-form to the sphere (the eye-sockets, nasal cavities, the digestive tract), produced by the planetary spheres working against the earth-forces (Saturn, Jupiter and Mars each "sack" differently).
